Maybelline eyeshadow??? wth?

I bought a maybelline expertwear eyeshadow quad in purpley shades. Each color was labelled for the lid, the crease, brow bone, and outer corner. I applied each color on my eyelid and then when I was done, it all looked WHITE! plain white! like i had just spread on tons of powdery white eyeshadow. whats up with that?Maybelline eyeshadow??? wth?
I can't say I've had colored eyeshadow turn white; however, I have discovered that most drugstore brand eyeshadows are a very poor quality. I have super-pale skin, but most cheap eyeshadows I tried still didn't have enough pigmentation to show up on my skin, even when I used an eyeshadow primer! And you'd think anything would show up on me since my skin is practically white ;) But I have tried Maybelline, CoverGirl, L'Oreal, etc. .... a few shadows were a decent quality, but most were definitely not! (For some reason all the best shadows were browns; I never found a good purple in those brands!)

I'm not quite sure how to deal with the Maybelline eyeshadow. If you're really upset, see if you can return it to the store or contact Maybelline for a refund.

Otherwise, I would suggest trying to find some better brands .... the only two inexpensive brands I found where most of the eyeshadows were actually a comparable quality to more expensive brands are Milani (found at some Walgreens, CVS, and www.walgreens.com) and Prestige (which so far I've only seen at some Walgreens). Or if you can afford it, try some department store brands. Finally, for a mid-range price, you can also try my current favorite brand: Aromaleigh (www.aromaleigh.com) -- HUGE color selection, excellent quality, decent price (especially if you wait for the sales), plus it's mineral makeup so it's healthier for your skin! Just make sure you always order samples first because Aromaleigh doesn't accept returns!

Anyways, I'm sorry those didn't work for you, and I hope you find something better! I know what it's like to waste tons of money on poor quality makeup! :)Maybelline eyeshadow??? wth?
That's why I don't buy Maybelline; there's no pigment.
Maybelline is good for there mascaras ,powders but the eyeshadows are crap......................try mac shadows i swear by them
try medusa's makeup.

its like mac but cheaper.

but you have to order it online.

also try HIP by loreal
Maybelline's eyeshadow pretty much sucks.

Hate to say it,but it does.

There's like no pigment.

I usually buy Almay or Covergirl cosmetics.

I'm not one for really expensive make-up,i think it's kinda ridiculous to buy Clinique or Dior cosmetics...When you can buy something a lot cheaper, that does the job just fine.

That's just how i feel though...
That is odd. I have never had that happen with any eye shadow ....I would contact the company, maybe you can give them a number off of the shadow and they can check into it. The only link I could find to contact them was like in the form of an email, so I would at least email them about this. And see if the store you bought it from will take it back. If not I would send them another email.

Hope this was helpful ~~

Dont worry about the fact that people refer to it as a cheap makeup......maybe it is what you can afford...especially this time of the year. I found this additional information for you with a phone number on it ....

Good Luck ~
That is strange. You need to use an eye primer like Urban Decay to get the colors to show-
I think you should contact the company. There should be a toll free number on the back of the package.
Don't buy cheap eyeshadow. Invest in some nice clinique or estee lauder - it may be more expensive, but a good palette will have good coverage and you can really tell the difference.
Don't know.
